Artist Statement

My name is Emma Nichols and I'm 15 years old. I'm a freshman at Blue Valley West and decided to take film photography for the first time. Throughout the semester I have learned lots of different styles and experimented with different images. I feel as though my gallery reflects my growth as a photographer due to the fact that I came into this class knowing nothing. Each roll was a learning experience and I overcame different struggles such as figuring out lighting and focus. I enjoyed having different themes for our rolls of film each week. Some of my favorite things to take pictures of include my dad and nature. Photography is such a unique way to show creativity and artistic abilities and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to take this class.
